the dawn of a new era for My Girlie & Me

we're starting something new here on My Girlie & Me. blithe and i have discussed this, and we want it to be about our journey together, as mother and daughter. and so, in the interests of that, blithe will occasionally be posting here, too. that's right, gentle readers, you're going to be hearing about life and love and really anything and everything from blithe's perspective, too. and so, without further ado, i give you....

BLOGGER BLITHE!!!!!

last week, blithe wanted some mommy-blithe time. it seems that it's almost becoming a routine: the kids are with their dad on tuesdays and wednesdays, but on wednesday, blithe wants time with mommy. it makes my heart go up, i'm not gonna lie. well, last week, we went out for dinner and then decided that the perfect dessert was chocolate. sadly, however, the local purveyors of chocolate were closed for the day, so....

we made it ourselves!!!! :)

we went over to bulk barn and got some chocolate melt-y thingies (please tell me you know what i'm talking about) and some skor bits. it was delightful! :) blithe dumped in the chocolate and stirred it while it melted, and then she mixed in the skor bits and helped me to pour it into the little cups. and once they set...

DELICIOUS!!!!!!

and the best part was that blithe and i got to spend a lovely evening together, just us girls.

my girlie :)

in march and april, while asher was in the hospital, blithe and bram stayed with my parents. while there, they went to school next door, where my mom used to teach. they were there for approximately six weeks.

bram enjoyed himself greatly, but blithe! wow! she had a wonderful time! she made a lot of friends and made huge strides academically. she made huge strides in her reading, going from reading some simple books when she started there, to reading age-appropriate books, including easy chapter books, by the time she left. and her writing went from, um, pretty messy to clear and legible and neat! i was thrilled with her progress, and she could not have been more proud of herself. :)

before she came home, she got a special award from the school. she was given the Principal's Award for being "such a good kid in class" (as she puts it), and for being the most improved student in her class! it was such a big accomplishment for her. she insisted on nana (my mom) taking a picture of her with her award and sending it to me in toronto.

(yes, it's taken me a long time to post this. i kept forgetting to send the pic from my phone. my bad.)
